The facility is available to rent contingent upon availability of the site and staff supervision. Interested parties should contact the Director for details regarding fees and conditions.
The center is open weekdays from 8 am – 5 pm. Questions of a general nature such as the services we provide or a tour of the facility do not need an appointment. Services such as SHIIP (Medicare or insurance counseling), the meal program or legal aid do require appointments as staff is limited and may not be present.
Our normal operating hours are weekdays, 8 am – 5 pm. We host a card night twice a month and a weekly evening yoga class. Occasionally, special events are held in the evening, but access to the facility is generally limited to daytime activities.
We print a monthly calendar that is available at the Senior Center on the first of each month. We also announce upcoming activities and classes in the Caswell Messenger. The newsletter is mailed to “Gadabout members” as part of their membership benefits.
Participation in the meal program is not contingent on income. Participants need only be over 60 years of age and reside in North Carolina.
There is no fee to join and many of the activities are free including the fitness facility and use of the computer room. There are fees for some activities, classes and trips to enable us to pay instructors or provide transportation.
There is a membership club called the “Gadabouts” open to all seniors 55+ for an annual fee of $10.00. Members travel monthly on day trips and usually do one or two out of state trips per year. The newsletter is mailed to current members reach month.
Unfortunately no, regardless of circumstance, the minimum age requirement of 55 is in effect.
Home delivered meals or Meals on Wheels are delivered throughout the county based on availability of funding and volunteers for delivery. This service is not always immediately available and in that instance, participants are placed on a waiting list which is filled in the order of receipt.
Please call the Senior Center to schedule an appointment with the Nutrition Manager upon discharge from the hospital.
The minimum age for participation at the Senior Center is 55. We appreciate that the community respects and supports that minimum age requirement.
