Step back in time with the Caswell County HistoricalAssociation’s Heritage Festival! During the 1800s, Caswell County was one of the wealthiest counties in North Carolina. The tobacco industry was booming and Caswell County was a leader in the field! Several historic buildings will be open and available to walk through. Tour the Historic Courthouse, listed on the National Register of Historic Places, which is architecturally considered one of the most distinctive courthouses in North Carolina. See the jail (with workable, but not working gallows). Visit the Richmond-Miles History Museum and the one-room Poteat schoolhouse.
Pelham Volunteer Fire Department located at 4895 Old US 29 Pelham, NC 27311 will be holding its 15th annual Pork Jam BBQ Festival on Saturday October 3rd, 2015 from 10am - 6pm. This one day event benefits the Pelham Volunteer Fire Department by allowing much needed funds to be raised to support the department and allowing us to purchase training materials and equipment. Come out and bring the family for a day of fun come hungry we will be serving up fresh BBQ and Desserts made by our Firemen! Parents we will have a Kidz Zone with Inflatables from The Caswell Bounce House, Hay Rides, Face Painters, Petting Zoo, and special appearances! While the kids are busy parents come browse thru the 60+ arts/crafters, watch live performances from a multiple of musicians from Rock, Country, Beach, and Gospel! Concerts are "Free" to those in attendance! This will be one show you do not want to miss! In addition we will have raffles, giveaways, and drawings all day! Want to be a vendor? We are located 45 minutes North of Greensboro, NC coming up Hwy 29 North and taking the Law Rd exit in Caswell County (2nd exit before the North Carolina/ Virginia State Line. Coming from Danville, VA come Hwy 29 South to Hwy 700 exit about 10 min drive.
