Caswell County Area Transportation System (CATS) was established on September 11, 2000 to consolidate transportation services from various local organizations and county departments. CATS is more cost effective and fuel efficient than having various county departments managing their own transportation services. CATS’ goal is to provide safe, clean and affordable transportation to the citizens of Caswell County. Transportation is provided at reasonable rates as long as state funds are available. CATS provides local and out of county transportation to the citizens of Caswell County. We provide transportation to anyone in Caswell County. CATS is a drug and alcohol-free workplace. Any person who believes they have been mistreated by an unlawful discriminatory practice under Title VI has a right to file a formal complaint with Caswell County Area Transportation System. Any such complaint must be in writing or in person with Caswell County Area Transportation System, P O Box 371, Yanceyville, NC 27379, within one hundred eighty (180) days following the date of the alleged discrimination occurrence. Reasonable Modification of Policies and Procedures
Individuals with disabilities may ask CATS to modify a policy or procedure if they feel the policy or procedure is discriminatory or prevents them from fully utilizing CATS' services. CATS will review these requests and will modify policies unless it finds that:
*The person can fully utilize the service without the requested modification (i.e., it is for convenience only).
*The change would create a direct threat to the safety of others.
*The change would fundamentally alter the nature of the service.
*The change would cause an undue financial or administration burden.
CATS encourages people to request such modifications in advance when possible. To request a modification of a policy or procedure in advance, complete the Request for Modification of Policy/Procedure Form located on the left side of the website or by calling 336-694-1424 and TTY 1-800-735-2962.
CATS will be guided by examples in Appendix E of 49 CFR Part 37
when making decisions on requests for modifications of policies.
If CATS denies a requests, it will consider other reasonable actions or approaches that might be able to meet the person's needs.
CATS has designated its Director to coordinate the acceptance and review of requests for reasonable modifications of policies. This policy will be communicated to the public on the CAT'S website and in the brochure.
